Carribean gospel artist Sherwin Gardner, one of Gospel reggae's top musicians is set to headline a show in Nairobi dubbed Recharge 2009. The multi-award winning top selling artist is set to perform at the Nairobi Pentecostal Church in Karen on Sunday 30th August 2009 starting at 2pm. He will be joined by US based gospel artist Damita Haddon, wife of grammy nominated gospel artist Deitrick Haddon as well as Caribbean gospel reggae sensation Monty G. Completing the international line-up will be Marvin Winans Jr, who was part of the famous gospel group Winans Phase 2. He is also brother to R&B singer Mario Winans.

Sherwin Gardner's single My House has received massive airplay on Kenyan radio and some of his well known hits include Hotta Redda Fire and You. He has several albums including Elevation, Leaning, Who I Am and his latest one called Borderless. Monty G also has countless reggae tracks from back in the day such as Hey! Christian Party to present day dub tracks. Damita Haddon has also hit the Kenyan gospel scene with her single No Turning Back landing in the Top 5 on Hope FM's Gospel charts. Marvin Winan's new single Never Let Me Down is also doing well in the Kenyan market. Its produced by super producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins.

Kenyan artists set to perform include Mbuvi, Mercy Masika and Kambua among others. Cedrick Todwell of Twelve Entertainment who is one of the main organizers of the event points out that Recharge will take place over the course of a weekend where outside of the live music there will music workshops and a talent show where the winner will get to open up for Sherwin Gardner.
