The much-hyped Musters Refill Weekend lived up to its expectations bringing together guys from different states complete with concerts on both days as well as Praise and Worship, preachings and dance sessions. Artists invited included Zaidi ya Mziki, Carol Mbithi, Chasemode, Yvonne Makilya, Brayo, DJ Fresh as well as dance teams from Georgia, St Loius, Boston, Joshua Generation and hosts Musters. The event started on Friday 24th August 2007 with over 120 people from different states arriving in North Carolina and being accomodated by host families all over Raleigh. On Saturday 25th August, the event, held at DeeJays Hall kicked off at 9am with Praise and Worship. Thereafter, various ministers got to share the word including Dr. Gachengechi of Crab Tree Fellowship, NC, Pastor Joe from Canada, Pastor Catherine from New York and Pastor Sammy of Christ Harvesters Church, GA. There were inter-sparsed performances from The Musters and Zaidi ya Mziki in the afternoon session as the ministers continued with the word. The evening concert started at around 7:30pm. Artists that performed included Carol Mbithi, Chasemode, Yvonne Makilya, Brayo and Markie Mark. There were also dances performed by youth from Christ Harvesters Church in Atlanta, Christ Covenant Church in St Louis, CSI dance group from Boston, Joshua Generation from Indiana and the Musters. This gave way to a concert by Zaidi ya Mziki that got everyone rush to the front as they performed their hits to the screaming fans. Thereafter, the energy was uped as DJ Fresh mixed music that had everyone on the dance floor. The following day, everyone gathered together at 10am for the Sunday service. The day's speaker was Pastor Manasee Mankuleiyo who delivered a powerful message. There were also performances by the St Louis dance team and Yvonne Makilya. In all, the weekend was very successful to say the least as several people gave their lives to Christ. Big up to the Musters for pulling it off! |
