The now regular Live at the Village gig was held on Thursday 7th August 2008 at the Simba Saloon at the Carnivore, Nairobi. This time round, they gave a comedy spin off and who best to tickle those ribs than stand-up comedian KJ (John Kiarie). Better known as part of the comedy group trio Redykyulass, KJ played to some resounding reception. In the country's general elections in late 2007, KJ was the ODM nominee in Dagoretti constituency in Nairobi but lost to PNU's Beth Mugo.
Present at the event was Kijiji Records' Kanjii who was billed as one of the two performers for the event with KJ. Characteristically, Kanjii did not disappoint as he sang his singles and dropped in some freestyle tunes with the band. His ability to involve the crowd in his performances with his unique voice always makes him a fantastic performer and entertainer.
Other notable personalities we spotted included Aaron "Krucio" Rimbui who backed Kanjii on the keyboards, producer Gittx who joined Kanjii on stage and the Mavuno church crew who redefined the "dance till you drop" phrase. Don't believe us? We got you close up shots. CHECK OUT PICTURES OF THE EVENT
