KENYA WINS AT AFRICA GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS 2011

LONDON - Kenya's Daddy Owen, Emmy Kosgei and Milele FM bagged wins at the 2011 Africa Gospel Music Awards held on the 9th of July 2011 at the Ultra Modern Lighthouse Hall in London, UK. Daddy Owen won in the Best East Africa Artiste category while Emmy Kosgei topped in the Overall Best Female Artiste category. Milele FM's Gospel Sunday scooped the Best Gospel Radio Programme.

The night kicked off with ministration by the worship trio of Wole Awolola, Gwendolynn Mukulu Chris and Aaron T. Aaron. This was followed by performances by Chuka Royalty, L Dubzy, Lyrical Soldier, Victizzle, Maheli Selepe, Daniel Idikayi, Diana Hamilton, Rebecca. The final trio of Sonnie Badu, Uche and Tim Godfrey got the audience dancing and asking for more. The music was interspersed by awards which were handed out in various categories (see winners list below)

Dignitaries from various diplomatic missions in the UK including Tanzania, Ghana, Zambia and media personalities from South Africa, USA, Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya also attended the event

Kenyan nominees included Juliani, Paul Mwai, Alice Kamande, Moses "Qqu" Odhiambo, Marvellous, NTV's One Voice and The Groove Awards. Check out the complete winners' list below. Congratulations to the winners.
