GROOVE AWARDS AND TALANTA AWARDS |

Two parallel awards are set to take place later this year. After a long hiatus, the Groove Awards is making a comeback this year and making a debut is the Talanta Awards. The two events have striking similarities but one disctinct difference. The Groove Awards, a brainchild of DJ Kev's (Kevin Musau) MoSound Entertainment will be held on Sunday 4th May 2008 in Nairobi. The Talanta Awards is being organized by North Carolina-based The Musters and will be held on Sat 19th July 2008 in North Carolina, USA. In the Groove Awards, the balloting process will consist of three steps: an entry form, verification by a panel of judges and separate ballots through PEPS - Voting sheets, SMS and Website. Online voting starts on April 4th 2008 at www.grooveawards.co.ke. As for the Talanta Awards, the process will involve three steps: online nomination of groups / artistes followed by shortlisting of nominees in each category and online voting. They also have 3 special categories for Kenyan-based artistes (Best Male, Best Female and Best Group) where the nominees will be invited to the US for the awards ceremony.
