Groove Awards, Kenya's premier Gospel Awards show is back and for the second year, KenyanGospel.com is one of the sponsors of the event. This year's awards will take place on Saturday 25th April 2009 at the KICC Tsavo Ballroom (former plenary hall) from 2pm. The event is organized by Mo Sound Entertainment under DJ Kev (Kevin Musau - try say Musau and Mo Sound very fast) and aims at promoting, exposing and celebrating the talent in the Gospel music industry. There is a total of 30 categories divided into 6 divisions. There is a new division of regional categories added this year incorporating artists from Uganda and Tanzania. There is also an International Artist or Group of the Year category where any Gospel singer from anywhere in the world (Kenyan or not) can enter. They have also scrapped the Peace Award and replaced it with Collabo of the Year, Most Consistent Gospel Artist and Best Live Performer / Group.

Let us break down how the nomination will work. The entry period is 1st - 21st March 2009. You must submit your nomination with an entry form (Download Here) and must include 2 colored photographs (full length and close-up), Biography in english (less than 500 words), 4 (four) copies of the single/CD for radio promotion and a copy of video (DVD & DVCam) of the title considered by the artiste as the most representative of his work, commercially released from January 31st 2008 to January 31st, 2009. You can drop off your entry forms at any of the following locations.

3. JCC Bookshop - Ngara
4. Baraka FM - Mombasa
5. Mail to: P.O Box 38532 – 00623, Nairobi Kenya.

The names of nominees will be made available to the public on 27th March 2009 and immediately the voting process will begin. Voting will be done both online and through SMS and will close on 24th April 2009.
