The obvious reason we think Juliani will scoop most of the awards is because he has been consistent in releasing music throughout the year. Add his killer lyrics, recent album drop and massive following from everyone in most age groups and social class and you see why. Asking fans to vote for one through sms email or online facebook groups will also increase some peoples chances of winning. Artists we see being helped on facebook include Marion Shako (with about 15,000 fans) as well as Hey-Z, producer Gittx, Mbuvi and Kambua's collabo and Fred Obare.
Njugush will win radio presenter of the Year because he also has a massive following and captures Hope FM, Homeboyz Radio and Power Radio fans. Mombasa based DJ Lenium can also pull a suprise upset for Njugush as he mobilizes Baraka FM listeners as well as his online facebook site. DJ of the Year will most definitely go to DJ Krowbar mainly because of the Mfalme National DJ competition win, though we'd have loved to see at least DJ Soxxy win. Also in the Producer of the year category, Gittx will win because of the online buzz he is creating. Dr Eddie has also created some online buzz besides creating Daddy Owen's big Kapungala song but we guess people have not heard alot from him. Besides, his name is mispelt as Dr Eli and that really hurts his chances.
It was very difficult deciding on Song of the Year as all nominees are serious contenders and this can go either way. We have to admit we guessed on the Ugandan category while for the Tanzanian one, we just chose who we knew. Dance Group of the Year is also very competitive and we think it will go down to who can mobilize most supporters to vote for them. With a mad following of the K-Krew especially for those who would potentially cast votes, CrossOver 101 will definitely take TV show of the Year.
As we stated earlier, these are just predictions and the actual results will be availed at the event on May 2nd. Let the conversation not end and tell us who you think will win.
