Los Angeles, CA - The California edition of the Gospel Jam was held on Sunday 15th March 2009 at the Buena Park Holiday Inn. Sponsored by Lifeline Community Fellowship Church, the free gig featured opening acts and lots of music as has characteristically been the case in earlier events elsewhere. The event started with a word of prayer by the host pastor Moses Ndereva and shortly thereafter, Lifeline's praise team took to the stage with two songs. They were quickly followed by Karis doing a live version of He lives backed on the keyboards by Kaima Mwiti of the gospel group Milele among others. California's own Lucy Maina then came in next with her backup singers and dropped a powerful praise single. EPOCA band closed out the performance session with some nice live music of popular praise songs.

After a brief introduction, DJ Fresh took to the decks for a serious jam session. Attendees hit the dancefloor as he played popular Kenyan hits and even the older folk could not resist doing a jig. From popular up tempo praise songs to mugithi to urban jams, there was something for every age group and sweat could be seen dripping from many. A krump session for the young guys was also thrown in much to their delight more so given the fact that krumping originated from southern LA. A dance competition was also held with attendees having a difficult time deciding the winner due to the talented competitors. The winner received a prize.
