ATLANTA - The Gospel Jam made its Atlanta stop on Sunday May 3rd 2009 at the Fountain of Life's Noonday Baptist Church. Anticipation was high as DJ Fresh and DJ Vinn teamed up with DJ Fully Focus and DJ Dyme of the infamous TakeOver DJs' for a night of Gospel music unlike any other. Artists on the performance list included Kiki, one of the leading female gospel artist in Kenya, Reggae artist Chasemode, Sam Mchalongo, D Kamaa, Gospel Father's Samu (Samuel Njuguna), new R&B artist Yung Bern, new comers Jimmy and Jackie as well as hip hop acts Holy Ghost Boyz and Gospel Revivers.
The evening started with a mix from DJ Fresh as guests arrived at the venue. Speaking of the venue, it was tricked out with a state of the art sound system with fantastic lighting and 3 widescreen LCD monitors. When Holy Ghost Boyz, the first acts for the night were called on stage, they set the tempo for what was an electric high energy night. With hard hitting gospel hip hop music, they delivered very well with mature life changing lyrics. Next up was Jimmie and Jackie, the first of two new acts that the Gospel Jam was breaking, having them perform in their state for the first time.

This gave way to a gospel session with TakeOver DJ's DJ Fully Focus and DJ Dyme. Though the famous duo had rarely done full gospel sets, they held it down very well playing music from Isaac Blackman, M.O.G, Maximum Melodies and many more. New artist Yung Bern (Bernard Mwangi) then took to the stage as he performed two R&B singles. The rest of the program interchanged between mixes from the 4 DJs as well as stand out performances from Chasemode who teamed up with Sam Mchalongo and D Kamaa with some righteous reggae and dancehall. Kiki was also outstanding belting out three singles off her album that dropped late last year. Her single Habadiliki got a rounding response. Gospel Fathers' Samu also held it down on the mic singing some of the classic Gospel Fathers singles including Tukisema Gospel and We Afi Giddem. Fountain of Life's Senior Pastor Robert also took 10 minutes to talk to everyone present as he gave some valuable insight and prayed for all the DJs present.

There was also a Krumping competition as the young people tried to battle each other with some street moves. By the time everyone was leaving, most had visible sweat round their faces as a testament to their participation and high energy in the room. With a sizable collection of Gospel music added to their playlist, DJ Fully Focus and DJ Dyme promised to play more gospel in their events. Several young people also had their lives changed and their perception of gospel music positively changed. Gospel Jam's next stop was Delaware for the East Coast jam with states like Alabama, Minnesota, Dallas and California among others scheduled for summer 2009 Gospel Jams.
