GOSPEL JAM 2 MASSACHUSETTS RECAP |
|

LOWELL, Massachusetts - The second edition of The Gospel Jam was held on Sun 8th March 2009 at Ushindi Church in Lowell, MA. The event attracted young people from all over Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut and New Jersey. Gospel R&B group TW, known for their energetic performances did not disappoint as they brought the house down. New Jersey based Sons of Judah made the 4-hour journey and served as opening acts for TW. After the opening prayer, the event started with an hour long live video mixx by DJ Fresh as he blended the best in Kenyan and international music videos. DJ Humbleskillz (who changed his name officially from DJ Eazy) then took over the decks as DJ Fresh served as his hype man.

As the party went into top gear, everyone let loose as they danced to stomping gospel music amidst spectacular lighting. This then gave way to Sons of Judah who performed their own composition. Excitement rented the air as TW took to the stage as they performed several songs in their first of two sets. With everyone trying to catch their breath at the end of the set, the DJs dropped a stream of gospel reggae. Ushindi Church's senior pastor Rev. Karimi Mumbui then gave a 5 minute talk and led a prayer. TW then got back for their final set before ending with some nice worshipful music. Check out the pics and a short video clip below.
