| F5 LEAVERS BASH RECAP |

For the 2008 Form Four leavers, there was no better way to celebrate than at the F5 Leavers Bash that was held on Friday 21st Nov 2008 at Mavuno Church's Belle Vue Dome. The all-night event that was organized by Mavuno's DJ Sparxx and K-Krew's DJ Soxxy ensured the Ex-Cans (ex-Candidates) were ushered well to a life without school bells. The two DJs kept the crowds on their feet before the transition to the night’s performances. The night’s MCs were Brain King who is also Mavuno's Youth Pastor and Amani Maranga who did their best to keep the crowd involved, at times showing off their dancing skills. First on the list of performers was the Spartans who didn’t disappoint with some tight dance moves followed by the energetic hip hoppers Eternal Emcees. Remember we premiered their new video here a couple of weeks ago. The list of performances kept streaming through with Rap artists Xpo, Shem, K-Tatu and Wernono Crew dropping jams sequentially.
VIEW MORE PICTURES OF THE EVENT Juliani and Nia took over the MCing for the second part of the gig. Hip Hope (Astar, Rigga, Michelle, Juliani) took to the stage (its been a while since the four appeared on stage together) joined by Bupe and Ciru. Daystar Uni alumnus Webi went next. There was also a time set aside for praise and worship led by the York House Team, the church's Youth and Young Adult group. Later Rigga, clad in his former school’s uniform (Sunshine High School) shared the Word from Psalms 105 dropping some encouragement for the ex-cans (at this time, clearly it was not just ex-cans present). Back to the performances and Jimmie Gait did his popular Muhadhara to the delight of the crowd loving his electrifying performance. The list of performances kept growing through the night with Holy Dave who did Not a Joke and Whatever Man, Squadi Sauti, Saintz and Spartans with some dance and 5:01 backed by Rock of Ages band doing their songs Nimechoka and Christ Baller’s Anthem. When morning came, F5 (which is coined from the computer keyboard shortcut for "Refresh") definitely lived up to expectation to the 600 or more attendees. Look out for the next edition of the F5 events from DJ Sparrxx and Mavuno's York House.
