Citizen TV's Gospel Sunday
NAIROBI - Citizen TV has revamped its Sunday mornings and is set to present Gospel oriented programming from 6am - 1pm in what they are calling Gospel Sunday. The K-Krew and Mavuno Church have taken up the slots that will see Kenyans participate in the first live Sunday service on national TV. K-Krew has jumped ship from NTV and dropped their award winning show Crossover101 and moved to Citizen TV with two new shows. Njugush (John Njuguna) will be presenting a show called Rauka with gospel artist Kambua Manundu every Sunday morning from 6am - 1pm as K-Krew takes over on the station with all your favourite music videos and more.

Mavuno Church takes over the airwaves from 9 - 11am in a LIVE service broadcast from their church at the Mavuno Dome (formerly Bellevue) in Nairobi's South B estate. K-Krew will then be back for a live video mixshow from 11am - 1pm. The changes take effect from this Sunday 7th March 2010. Incidentally, Njugush and DJ Moz have a  2010 Chaguo La Teeniez nomination for Crossover101.

Citizen TV has been known to go all radical with their programming and presenters. A few years ago, the station poached top KTN news anchors all at once in a bid to revamp their news programmes. Some of their radio stations (and they have close to 8 through their Royal Media parent company) have also previously gotten top presenters from rival stations. However, Citizen TV and NTV have done an appreciable job in supporting gospel events across the country.

Mavuno Church has recently been a trendsetting church when it comes to innovation. In March 2007, the Church's worship team was the first Kenyan church to do a Live DVD recording at the Film Studios in Nairobi. In 2007, the team travelled to the US where performed in various states. They recently hosted Kirk Franklin in October 2009. Mavuno Church is one of the few Kenyan churches that post their financial records online.

In other Mavuno news, their worship leader Kanjii Mbugua is back to the West Coast in the US where he has met up with his bandmates from Milele. He is expected back in Kenya later on in the year.
UPDATE: Kanjii is now back in the country.
