AFLEWO 2008 RECAP
Sun, 21 Sep 2008

The much anticipated AFLEWO (Africa Let's Worship) 2008 night of worship took place on Friday 19th September 2008 at the Nairobi Pentecoastal Church in Karen (NPC West). The 1200-seater church was filled to capacity long before the actual start of the session at 9pm. The overflow tents outside the church accomodated a similar number of attendees though they had to be content with watching the proceedings from a giant screen. Pastor Tom Otieno was first on stage giving way to AFLEWO's Praise and Worship Leader Timothy Kaberia backed by a mass choir of various churches around Nairobi. This year's theme was reconciliation following the recent post election violence in Kenya. Infact there was a unforgetable moment when Pastor Tom Otieno and Praise and Worship leader Timothy Kaberia shook hands and apologized to the nation on behalf of the Kikuyus and Luos as the congregation also joined in.

Members of Daystar University's Sing Africa team who were also part of the mass choir also led the Praise and Worship sessions. Various pastors also led prayers all through the night. K-Krew's DJs provided worshipful music. Several pastors we spotted included Pastor Grace Bukachi, Apostle Tsuna, Pastor Isaac (NPC Karen), Pastor Kiema, Pastor Kitoto among others.

When the curtains fell down at 5:30am, many were already looking forward to AFLEWO 2009. Check out the pictures and find out why next time you will have to get there a few hours early to guarantee yourself inside the church doors.

My name is Moses Kimani. I am one of the leaders at AFLEWO and also had the privilege to serve as one of the co-worship leaders on Sept 19th.

I write this to thank you for the rave review that you gave us (or, the event). I guess what can be said on our part is that God showed up. He graced the gathering with His presence...and for that we are grateful.

The next event is in Mombasa at Elim Evangelistic Church in Makupa on Oct 10th. Y\\\'all are welcome. Do keep us in prayer!

Yeah AFLEWO was a blast but the place was too squeezed. please we'd appreciate it you hosted it in the gymnasium (kasarani). That will be a much better place. Thanx 4 the good work n God bless.

Yeah beatiful photos. We thank God for the premier AFLEWO Mombasa as well, God visited us...
On the good suggestions about venue, I am made to understand that Ksarani gym does not seat as many as NPC West.....
