TW

TWThe members of TW were raised in Africa where people are hungry for God. The travesties and challenges of life in Africa causes people to seek God earnestly. People conduct meetings in marketplaces, schools, community centers, sports stadiums, and at every social gathering. That is why Africa has some of the largest churches in the world and people there are experiencing revivial. This is the foundation that caused these guys to tap into an endless source of hope and optimism. They found God early on in life and learned to trust and believe in Him. This type of lifestyle birthed a healthy desperation for God and transformed them into prayerful men of faith. The challenges and trials that they have faced while growing up in Africa have made them sensitive and responsible, giving them a burning desire to touch people around the world with their gift of song. TW says that through all these experiences, they have realized that God has called them, and though they are just beginning their journey, they are blessed and highly favored by God.

The members of the team did not know each other until they met in the United States. Each one of them was experiencing great success in their music careers prior to their meeting. Africa is a place of multiple trials and hardships, yet it is also a place of beautiful nature, wildlife, and the joy for people and music. Music is the central focus for Africa's traditions and customs. Communities and villages gather together with drums and so many other self-invented instruments to sing and celebrate life. Hence, these African natives attained a great love for music and were able to accomplish much in their own ministries.

In December of 1998, Zenzo was introduced to George Kizito, who was previously the music director for the popular African Children's Choir of Uganda. George, the founding member of TW, quickly became a good friend of Zenzo's because of their mutual love for gospel music and faith in God. They both became worship leaders at an African church called All Nations Christian Center.
The following year, George and Zenzo attended a Christian revival service in Lowell, where they were introduced to Godwin, a gifted Kenyan musician who served as a pianist and worship leader for another African church. The three became great friends and admired each other's talents and diversity in their approach to music. Later that same year, Godwin introduced the two to his brother Ozzy. Ozzy brought such great joy and enthusiasm to the group. Shortly afterwards, David visited the All Nations Christian Center with his family. He amazed the boys with his deep voice, as well as his gift to play the African congas. They became friends, and their similar backgrounds made it easy for them to get along.

TWIn the fall of 2000, Zenzo was putting the finishing touches on his solo CD, Stand Project. He invited his friends to join him in recording a song together. This marked the beginning of their journey. They were extremely impressed with the musical chemistry and the sound they had created in this song. Zenzo went ahead to release this CD. He decided to start traveling with the team. They would sing songs from his CD and some new ones that they would write together. So many times they would go on stage with a new beat that Zenzo had just created, and they would improvise. This taught them to explore their abilities to spontaneously create music on stage. They reached a point when they would perform for two hours with all improvised material, and the audience would be amazed. They traveled to many states, visiting numerous churches, schools, festivals, and conventions. America could not resist their style as they sang with great passion and unique harmonies, presided over by great energy and dynamic dancing.

The two brothers from Kenya, Ozzy and Godwin, brought forth an unquenchable faith in God, an excellent sense of business, and a spirit of urgency in prayer. The Ugandan member, David, brought an elegance of style and fashion as well as the art of dancing. George brought maturity, a dimension of order, and a strong spirit of humility. The Malawian head of the group, Zenzo, brought dynamic leadership skills, vision, and purpose. He brought ministerial experience, as well as a theatrical approach to ministry. Together, they created an explosive music group and ministry, which is very rare. George, who pioneered and helped establish the group, has gone on to establish a new kids ministry, 'Kids on a Mission' (K.O.M), which is affiliated with TW. He occasionally collaborates with his brothers and is part of every major decision. However, he does not perform on every occasion because of his grown commitment to K.O.M.
TW has been together for five years. One of the greatest secrets of their ministry is unity. They are so deeply united in love that over the five years they have known each other, they have lived like one big family. They call themselves the TW family because of the love God has put in them.

TW Launch

Lowell MA: TW Album Launch, July 2005

Over the past five years, TW has traveled and ministered in so many states in America. They have been to various churches, high schools, festivals, and conventions. In the local educational arena, TW has played at Hollis High School and Nashua High School during Black History Month. At both of these locations, there was a positive response from the student body to their music. TW has also played at Lowell High School, where over 3,000 students attended their concert. Among others, they have also played at Lowell Catholic High School and Middlesex Community College.

One of the best concerts for TW was one that honored Vietnam War Veterans in Lowell, MA. Many people turned out and had a great time. TW appreciated the opportunity to minister to them. Another special opportunity for them was when they played at an AIDS Awareness Concert in New Hampshire. A definite highlight for TW was participating in the Lowell Folk Festival, the largest festival in the area.
When the group travels, it is mostly to different churches. They have established a partnership with many pastors and have become role models to many young people. Some of the places they have traveled to include Dallas, Houston, Brooklyn, New York City, Raleigh, North Carolina, Connecticut, Indiana, Virginia, New Jersey, and Delaware. In December of 2004, TW hosted their own concert in Lowell. It was a promotional event that drew in many people of various nationalities. The concert turned into a joyful celebration and left a huge impact on the audience. TW enjoys playing at different venues and looks forward to a future of many exciting events.
